COVID 19 Updates:
Updates about Appointments at Hillcrest Internal Med
- We ask that you call the office and avoid coming into the office if you have had any fevers/chills/sore throat/cough or have had exposure to anyone with COVID. This is very important because we have patients with poor immune systems that are at high risk of acquiring COVID.
- WALK-INs for appointments or any other reason are not welcome at this time.
- To help keep YOU safe, we have limited the number of patients entering the office at a given time. For this reason, we ask that the patient come to the office unaccompanied, unless medically necessary. Additionally, we have our staff cleaning all exam rooms thoroughly between each patient visit.
- Please wear a mask at all times during the visit.
- We are offering televisit appointments and in person appointments to accommodate everyone. Please ask our staff about your options. The televisit appointments are very easy to do.
Update About COVID TESTING:
- COVID Testing for patients with suspected COVID or COVID symptoms is not being performed at our office at this time. For COVID testing sites we recommend the following resources:
- coronavirus-sd.com or call 211
- Local Urgent Cares that do COVID testing include:
- Margue Urgent Care (located in Eastlake and La Mesa) with appt only at 949 617 3995.
- Perlman Clinic in Hillcrest (they will do a televisit first, then set up for drive by testing) at 858 554-1212.
- Some CVS's do COVID testing (COVID-19 Testing and Locations | MinuteClinic (cvs.com)
- COVIDCLINIC.ORG will do rapid and non rapid covid testing, but is not covered on insurance.
What to do if you HAVE COVID:
- Coronavirus-sd.com is an excellent resource
- Let your doctor know you have tested positive
- We recommend you quarantine at home for 10-14 days as long as on the last 48 hours you do not have any fever, sore throat or cough.
- If symptoms become so severe that you have a hard time breathing, call our office and we will have you to the ER but we will call the ER to tell them you are coming.
COVID VACCINE INFORMATION:
Unfortunately, after much investigation, with deep regret, we have determined that our office will not be able to provide the covid vaccine. However, we are still encouraging patients to get the vaccine. The government is distributing the vaccine in different phases. The governor of California has not worked out, quite yet, how it is going to be distributed to the general public.
- We recommend visiting www.sandiegocounty.gov. We anticipate the county to put detailed information on this site as soon as it is available on how to obtain the vaccine.
